The Good Furry Award Lifetime Achievement Award!

The Lifetime Achievement Award recognizes furries who have had a significant impact on the furry fandom that has influenced the course of our history. Furries are selected by a special board of greymuzzle furries who have extensive knowledge of the furry fandom and its history. The winner (or, possibly, winners) will be announced at the same time as the Good Furry Award winner.
The committee will be selecting another Lifetime Achievement Award recipient this year, and the results will be announced along with the regular Good Furry Awards.

The 2023 Winner Is

REED WALLER
Reed, who is still active in the furry community, was a highly influential figure in the early fandom. Along with this late wife, Kate Worley, he created the seminal Omaha the Cat Dancer (debuted in 1978) furry comic series, which, along with Steve Gallacci's Albedo, is possibly the most influential furry work of fiction of that era and brought a lot of people into the furry fandom (including yours truly, Grubbs Grizzly)
Reed also cofounded (with Ken Fletcher) the first furry APA, Vootie, which first came out in 1976 with about 100 copies sent to contributors. APAs were the first publications that really got the early fandom pumped with fresh writers and artists wanting to contribute to "the Funny Animal Liberation Front." Good news for Omaha fans: Reed will be reprinting the comic later this year!
