2025 Winners

Thanks to Another Furry Con for hosting this year's award ceremony.

Here are all the nominees. Thanks to everyone for nominating furries and for voting! See you next year!

GOOD EGG AWARD

This award recognizes those who do extensive charitable and volunteer work for furries or nonfurries.
Ally Rose
Alaina Rose: Ally does an extensive amount of administrative work on keeping the Ohio Furry Community well informed through various means and has created and continually updates online repositories. Her work includes organizing calendars, keeping track of telegram and discord chats, creating eye-catching flyers and zines. Basically she has become an important "encyclopedia" of where to find others within the Ohio furry fandom.

Black Silk
Black Silk: He demonstrates exceptional dedication both within and beyond the fandom. He works with individuals with developmental disabilities, showing compassion, patience, and professionalism in his day-to-day career. Within the furry community, he actively supports conventions and their staff teams—so much so that at one event, despite my being his lead, he put in more work than I did. His reliability, heart, and work ethic make him a standout member of our community.

David “DaiCyrmu” Lakin
David “DaiCyrmu” Lakin:  David has been involved in leadership roles with major conventions in the U.K., Canada, and the U.S. He’s been on staff at Scotiacon and staff lead liaison for “Guest of Honor” attendees at major furry conventions such as Furnal Equinox in Toronto and Anthro New England in Boston. This year, DaiCyrmu is embarking on something new that will bring happiness to furries in his part of the world: he’s in charge of creating a new furcon called Aberacon in Port Talbot, Wales. As the fandom reaches all parts of the world, furries help bring different ideas, cultures, and customs together by making a furry convention not just a fun gathering of anthropormorphic arts enthusiasts, but also by helping to foster understanding of one another in a safe environment. DaiCymru represents that philosophy 100%, and along with his wisdom and knowledge, he will definitely make Aberacon a smashing success. He is there to listen, gives a helping dog paw (and a floppy shep ear) to his friends going through times of need. He’s someone you want to be with, a true friend indeed. His love for aviation and travelling are detailed by his amazing photography and comprehensive essay journals on FA. I can’t think of someone more deserving as this fine young man, who’s a dedicated, loving, and supportive German Shepard at heart. I’m proud to honor this person as my nominee.

Furgeddaboutit staff
(Group Nomination) Furgeddaboutit Staff: This NJ-based convention was built in 6 months or less, but has left a lasting impact on the community. It is hard to pin it to just one contributor as it was very much a true group effort. The convention was a collaboration between Furrydelphia, The Furst State, Anthro Outdoor Adventures, Pinefur Meets, and Furgen County. The event itself brought together 17 dealers/artists and 2 local heroes, Gadget & Gizmo and Jay the Gryphon. They also welcomed Cedar Run Wildlife Refuge, based out of Medford, NJ as their charity. Throughout the weekend, the con utilized many different tactics to raise money for Cedar Run, including bucket brigades and a room party hosted by the brilliantly named Gabagool Squad that took tips throughout the party. The con was the result of furries in the NJ circuit being in need of a convention, after FAU left many moons ago and several other cons trying and failing to get off the ground in the Garden State. Of the 5 contributors above, 3 of them are based in NJ itself, making this con as about as NJ as it gets, even down to the name. During the con, there were quite a few sketchbook swaps, panels, ice cream from Mr. Softee, and out in the courtyard, furries playing with beach balls. At one point during the weekend, the con even invited in last minute vendors who needed to recoup some business, at no cost to the vendors. On Saturday evening, the con hosted a 70s themed dance party called Saturday Night Soul Train. And during Closing Ceremonies, some staff of the con inspired one final push for donations, raking in little over 1k more in donations for the charity. The final charity amount was $8,260.23, which the representative from the charity claimed was thousands more than the refuge has gotten from previous fundraisers. There were 638 generous souls who attended, well over the projected amount that the con was expecting. Despite that, the convention staff were quick to adapt to the changes in real time, resulting in it being one of the best first year cons.

Gadget and Gizmo with Jay the GryphonGadget and Gizmo flank Jay the Gryphon.
Gadget and Gizmo: Gadget and Gizmo have been stewards of good will and charity in the community for nearly a decade. They routinely give back to the community through their artwork and mascoting experience. Most recently, they helped the donation drive at Furgeddaboutit, a convention in New Jersey. The work they put in inspired people to donate over $120 to the charity bucket in less than an hour, adding to a total of $8k+ raised for Cedar Run Wildlife Refuge. Their drive to uplift others cannot be disputed, and they are widely celebrated for their creativity and positive energy.

Hund the Hound
Hund the Hound was instrumental in starting a weekend long furmeet titled "World Wild Fur Camp" that has been hosted by local to Ohio YMCA camps. The camp was started in 2018. In 2025 they will be hosting their 6th meet. The charitable donations during the furmeet goes directly to the camp itself. In 2024, 100 attendees helped raise $5,000 for Camp Willson in Bellefontaine, OH. That is a staggering $50/attendee for donations and is definitely one of the leaders for the most charity raised per capita. Hund is a family-oriented individual with two children of his own, and being able to keep the YMCA camp operating for future children to enjoy is important to him.

Jaru
Jaru: Jaru has been a staple within the Ohio fur community for his gentle nature, optimism, mentoring, and leadership. For over 20 years, he has dedicated countless hours volunteering/staffing at conventions. He has been an integral part of AnthrOhio, beginning in 2005 (with Morphicon) as a volunteer, working in various departments as a staff member and a member of the Board of Directors. He also volunteered at Furlaxation and Fur Reality. He has also been on staff with World Wild Fur Camp, a small but very important weekend-long furmeet at a YMCA Camp in Southwestern Ohio. He is currently on staff with World Wild Fur Camp and is the Chief of Staff for AnthoOhio.

Jeff Snider
Jeff Snider: 1) He and a friend have been running no-kill cat rescue out of his home for at least 6 years that I know of. The picture I included includes his friend on the left, with Jeff on the right, at their first official Cat House Rescue event. 2) He has about 4-5 fursuits, which he uses to spread a lot of joy. I first got to know him as Scruffywoofie. He is currently a pizza delivery driver, and many customers request to have him deliver in suit, which he loves to do. 3) He fursuits publicly and is well known and loved by employees and patrons of retails places he frequents. He keeps track of the birthdays of many locals and hand delivers special gifts to them, in suit of course. 4) He's a very active member in a local group called "Cape Fear Furries" that among other things make appearances at various charitable events. 5) He's an all-around sweet and loving person, and an active member of the Greymuzzles group. I believe he is a retired fire fighter, which alone says a lot about him and his big heart.

Pawsouls
Pawsouls is the mind behind PS Furmeets, a group dedicated to furry gatherings across New Jersey. Her most ambitious event, The Big One, turned out to be a huge success in spite of personal struggles at the time. Before TBO, Pawsouls had previously worked hard as staff at numerous conventions, making connections with other staffers and promoting a sense of goodwill. All the while, she was leading a variety of furmeets since 2018, which have since grown bigger in size and scope. She has also been a positive role model and influence in other communities outside of the furry fandom, including video gaming and Pokemon.

Ronnie Noodles
Ronnie Noodles: If you have ever attended Anthrocon, you might have seen a familar friendly face roaming around helping newcomers, or hosting Floor Wars with their animated cartoon voice! - I am excited to nominate Ronnie Noodles for the Good Furry Award – Good Egg Award because of everything they’ve done to help the furry community. Ronnie has worked hard at many furry conventions like Anthrocon, Motor City Fur Con, IndyFurCon, Furnal Equinox, and Eurofurence. They’ve helped plan events, run digital services, talk with hotels, and improve the experience for everyone who attends. Ronnie also cares a lot about helping others and has raised money for good causes like ALS and cancer research through charity shows, walks, and auctions.

Ronnie also teaches and supports others in the fandom. Since 2011, they’ve given helpful panels on dancing, fursuit care, and performing. For over 14 years, they’ve judged and hosted furry dance battles and helped dancers grow and improve. Ronnie also makes YouTube videos that help new congoers feel less nervous, and they help keep Twitch streams safe and fun by being a moderator. Ronnie always tries to help others and make the community better, and that’s why they truly deserve the Good Egg Award.

San Diego Furries logo
[Group Nomination] San Diego Furries: They have been hosting meets since around 2012 and have provided a place of support, comfort, and community for many people. The admins have been great with making people feel included and heard, and no one feels less than someone else at these events. They are able to bring so many people together and make lifelong memories, especially since most of their meets are completely free of charge to make sure anyone can participate. They participate in activities like the San Diego Pride Parade's and help with smaller groups like the UCSD Furries "Triton Tails." The host (Chance the Dragon) has been an exceptional member in the fandom and was able to make so many people feel so welcome and right at home. Which is why I want to nominate all the people who run and make the meets so special for the Good Furry Award.

Tetris Addison Hill
  • Tetris (Addison Hill): She was the head for last years charity duo at Golden State Furcon and did an incredible job earning over 10k for charity. She's been leading the cencal group Furry Frenzy with love and fun making sure all ages of furries have a super safe accepting space to have fun and socialize. For her job, she is a bus driver for children and is super kind and makes sure to take care of all her kiddos. She provides so much support for our small furry community here, organizing all ages safe meets, bringing furry representation to all of the pride festivals we have here and educating people on what we are, and providing extra support for those of us in her group with autism, anxiety, and depression.
  • Second nomination: Tetris is a very good caring furry that includes everyone including of all ages, helps out, does the most that they can do for their community especially for furries and lgbtq+. Also loves her job and helping the children she works with.

Thabo Meerkat
Thabo Meerkat (aka Pegla): Thabo is the definition of a good person. He always watched over and cares for the people who are having a bad time. I got to meet him when I lost 100% of my voice during a con and he took me along the whole day.
His heart is absolutely at the right place. He's basically the charity chairman of Europe. And no, I am not exaggerating, he is THE face of charity at about 5 to 10 cons. Last February he got his head shaved on stage at Nordic Fuzz Con. As he set that as a fundraiser goal. And it went big. Not only that, but he has a weekly YouTube show called "digging up positivity". Here he calls out all charities fundraisers that happened in the fandom that week. Bot small and big fundraisers are called out. And at the end of the year, he does a big tally. In that show he also gives highlights to unique furry creations and actions. And at the end of the show, he invites someone interesting to interview and highlight what they do. And I also know he frequent hospitals in his suit to visit ill children and brighten their days.

Yappy Slyfox
Yappy Slyfox: For over 25 years, Yappy has brought joy, humor, and positivity to the fandom. While many know him as the creator of the Funday PawPet Show, his contributions go far beyond that. He’s been a passionate advocate for making fursuiting more accessible at conventions, something we often take for granted today. Yappy has tirelessly staffed multiple events, supported countless activities behind the scenes, and remains one of the most dedicated and enthusiastic fursuiters in the community. His energy and generosity have left a lasting impact on everyone lucky enough to know him.

(Second nomination!): I’m proud to nominate Yappy Fox for the Good Furry Award, a true pillar of the furry fandom whose thoughtfulness and dedication shine in every corner of the community. His creation of the Funday PawPet Show in November 1999 has been a cornerstone, streaming live every Sunday from Kissimmee, Florida, and recently celebrating its 1,000th episode. The show fosters inclusivity through fan videos, Art Jams, and con performances, raising over $1,200 in a single episode for community causes, making it a cherished global platform. Yappy’s founding of Megaplex in 2002 grew it from a small gathering to thousands of attendees, often funded from his own pocket for hotel bookings and setups, creating a vibrant space for anthropomorphic arts. At Anthrocon since 1997, he’s led the fursuit parade with a cymbal, routing it through the Dealers’ Room to ensure dealers share in the joy, making it a beloved tradition. Most personally, Yappy’s reliability defines him—whether jumping in his truck at 4:00 AM to help a stranded friend or giving thousands of dollars unprompted to those in need, he always puts others first, making him a blessing to all who know him. Yappy Fox’s selfless contributions make him the ultimate Good Furry.

IMAGE AWARD

This award recognizes those who project a positive image of the furry fandom through the media.
Andreecko: As a reader and member of the furry community, I wanted to express my appreciation for an article in Andreecko's game corner, one of the popular gaming newsrooms in Greece, highlighting critical issues and incidents involving groups such as the Furry Raiders. This news is incredibly valuable as it helps raise awareness about threats that can compromise the inclusivity and safety of our community. By shedding light on problematic behaviors and criminal activities within specific groups, this reporting equips individuals and organizers with essential knowledge to protect themselves and others. It empowers our community to proactively uphold the values of tolerance and respect while remaining vigilant against harmful elements. I have to thank him again for his insightful and responsible journalism. It genuinely contributes to the wellbeing and integrity of the furry community.
The article is in Greek (use translator).
Aurelina
Aurelina: An absolute beacon of furry-integral media preservation with a channel that is approachable to fur and non-fur alike. I feel like we’d lose so much nostalgia and history vital to what drew many of us into the community without someone like Aurelina not only preserving, but SHARING what she does. Visit her YouTube channel at (10) Furry Found Footage - YouTube and her BlueSky page at Furry Found Footage➡️LVFC (@furryfootage.bsky.social) — Bluesky.

Lazuli (Crowned Feline)
Crowned Feline (Lazuli): I am proud to nominate Lazuli (Crowned Feline) for the Good Furry Award – Image Award in recognition of their outstanding contributions to the furry community through engaging and innovative media. Through their YouTube channel, Crowned Feline, Lazuli has skillfully presented a vibrant and positive image of the furry fandom. Their content not only highlights the creativity within the community but also makes it more accessible and appealing to the broader public.

Lazuli’s media work includes interviews with furry dancers, giving talented individuals a platform to share their stories and art. They also support the artistic side of the fandom by commissioning original character designs, celebrating the role of visual art in the community. In addition, Lazuli explores unconventional and creative topics, such as fursuiting while camping, offering a fresh and unique perspective on furry experiences that engages and excites viewers.

Beyond media, Lazuli has had a significant impact through event management and charity. As the organizer of Battle Zoo, one of the fandom's largest dance battles, they have introduced inventive formats like Pokémon-themed matchups and randomized group performances, helping raise the bar for community events. Lazuli’s charitable efforts, including donations from “Dab for Gale” merchandise to wildlife organizations, reflect a genuine commitment to giving back.

Through a combination of creative content, inclusive events, and philanthropy, Lazuli has strengthened both internal community pride and external perception of the furry fandom. Their work exemplifies the spirit of the Image Award, and they are a deserving nominee for their role in showcasing the positive, imaginative, and generous nature of the furry community.

Digging Up Positivity
Digging Up Positivity by Thabo Meerkat: This YouTube channel hosted by Thabo Meerkat highlights charitable activities and other wonderful deeds performed by furries and furry organizations all over the world. In a world where furries are often either getting grief from normies or even criticizing themselves, "Digging Up Positivity" is a show in the true spirit of the GFAs. Thabo offers stats, narrates stories, and conducts interview on this wonderful show. It deserves the GFA!

Roochi Lexico
Roochi Lexico: Also known as WineRedFox, Roochi has been in the Furry Fandom for nearly two decades. Since 2010 he hosted the podcast Fur What It's Worth, talking about various Furry topics in both a casual and genuinely educational format since 2010. Dr. Courtney "Nuka" Plante, lead analyst of Furscience, is a regular cast member who uses the show for outreach. This show has inspired many Furries to join the Fandom! Roochi is a frequent streamer, who together with Firkle enjoy highlighting other members of the community.

Roochi is also host to the VRChat community Beans at Play, a group that gathers every Monday night to play games. From humble beginnings, the group soared in popularity with over 270 members! Working tirelessly to promote others in the Furry Fandom and operating his community, Roochi is one adorable red fox that never stops bringing people together or inspiring others to do the same.

Scout Pawfoot
Scout Pawfoot: Scout has done so much good in working with YouTube creators outside of or strangers to the furry fandom. They are featured in “I Went Undercover to a Furry Convention” on the channel loveliveserve (8.5M subscribers, 813K views, and 42K likes) as well as “Do Furries Use a Litter Box?” On the channel SmoshAlike with Anthony Padilla (7.66M subscribers, 450K views, 24K likes). In both of these videos, scout does an outstanding job of being honest about the furry fandom while highlighting its strengths. They are a stellar example of an inclusive, personable, kind and open furry. Scout goes out of their way even to include other furries in their interviews to provide numerous perspectives on such an identity based fandom. Scout highlights the creativity, dedication and kindness of furries in all of their collaborations with YouTubers, so much so that she was able to get Rhino from loveliveserve to participate and show up in “suit” to a local meet. That’s how positive of a picture they paint of our community and how welcoming to outsiders they are. Everyone who interviews them leaves with respect and genuine intrigue about our lifestyle. Scout is also a fantastic role model to other furs. I met Scout for the first time at Furcationland 2025 in Portland, ME. After 10 years in the fandom, it was my first convention. I had visited scouts table in the dealer’s den and left with Scout having made my day. We talked for a while about the fandom, about our interests, about their work, and they were so generous as to let me touch and interact with their beautiful art. All of my nervousness melted away. It was such a kind thing to do for a complete and utter stranger. Scout paints a picture of us that non-furs deserve to and should see.

Scurrow Squirrel
Scurrow Squirrel: A force of creative positivity, and a wide array of expression. Photography, music, traditional mediums and more; Scurrow does it all. Their creativity and sheer eclectic array of stuff captures the fandom well. From experimental fursuit photo shoots to traditional mediums to albums, he possesses an assortment of talents. Plus, Scurrow has a good sense of humor and rolls with the punches of things quite well.
Shrapnel Vargr
Shrapnel Vargr: If you look up excellence in the dictionary, you'll find a picture of Shrapnel. He is one of, if not the most, awesome furry youtubers I know. He is super chill and not a fake personality like a lot of the others. He deserves some recognition for everything he did for Cardiff Furs during his time running our meets, especially on the fursuit walks where I've seen him confronting chavs and getting right between them and the fursuiters. He's always positive, always laughing, and always has a good story to tell from his decades in the fandom. His vest is pretty iconic too.

Sotalo
Sotalo has made exceptional contributions to the furry fandom through education, preservation, and positive representation, with the Virtual Furry Museum: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ebGQnMsOKU0. Sotalo is the creator and curator of the Virtual Furry Museum in VRChat. The Virtual Furry Museum is a unique and immersive virtual world dedicated to showing the history of the furry community, and while it has been up for a couple of years, he is still adding elements to it! The museum serves as both an educational resource and a celebration of furry culture, history, and art. With permission, careful research, and a genuine passion, Sotalo has ensured that significant milestones and figures, such as Mark Merlino (co-founder of the first furry convention) are honored and remembered. Before Mark’s passing, Sotalo worked closely with him to document invaluable stories and details about the early days of the fandom, preserving firsthand accounts that might otherwise have been missed by the new generation of furries. Before Mark Merlino passed away, Sotalo also created a section of the museum with a rich history of Mark's life in the furry fandom, and testimonials of the lives he's changed.

Beyond building and maintaining this virtual world, Sotalo actively brings furry history to life for thousands around the globe. He regularly gives guided tours of the Virtual Furry Museum, which has welcomed over 30,000 visits to date. He has also participated in interviews, panels, and presentations both in VR spaces and at a couple of conventions, consistently portraying the furry community in a positive, truthful, and welcoming light. Through these efforts, Sotalo has educated countless people; and strengthened our sense of community and pride. His work ensures that new generations of furries can appreciate how far the furry fandom has come, and how it has changed so many lives for the better. For his dedication, vision, and invaluable contribution to preserving and celebrating furry culture, Sotalo truly deserves to be recognized with a Good Furry Award.

Thank you for your consideration.

Straight from the Muzzle
[Group Nomination] Straight from the Muzzle: Debuting in 2018, this biweekly podcast is run by a team including the furries SpaceBear Sparks, Paradox, Deer Dog, Ruby, Byx, and Kyra Stoat. The podcast is an amazing influence in the furry fandom! The content includes everything from helpful tips to lighthearted rants to deep discussions, and the team members share it in an inclusive and engaging way. They've built a tight-knit community of listeners who are all supportive of each other, creating enjoyable and safe spaces for everyone in the community to ask questions, help each other, and just be themselves. This podcast has proven it can give back to the community, and they have also played a key role in how I started getting involved in the fandom, helping me start to overcome my fear of judgment.

FURTASTIC AWARD

This award covers all those who do good things that do not easily fall into either the Image Award or Good Egg Award categories.
Alkali Bismuth
Alkali Bismuth: (Note from GFA admin: This candidate was originally placed in the Good Egg category, but we felt his work at cons places him more in the Furtastic category because they are so broadly involved in many aspects of conventions): Alkali was one of the founding members of Fur Squared, and his involvement with other conventions has gone virtually unrecognized. Everything from comedy shows such as "Who's Lion Is It Anyway?" to actually saving Indy Fur Con from going under when they suffered from a severe staff shortage back in 2023. He has raised $1,000s for charity and is well loved by the entire fandom, enough so that he has traveled and performed at other conventions outside of the USA. He is directly credited to the growth of the furry fandom

Doctor Onion
Doctor Onion: Doctor Onion has been a long quiet admirer of the furry fandom with side projects here and there under other aliases, but only recently has he stepped forth into the stoplight: specifically, the vibrant world of in-person entertainment within the community! Whether through casual conversation or his comedy game show panels (Such as Roguelive and Comical Con Men), Doctor Onion never fails to leave audiences hooting and howling with laughter and encourages everyone and welcomes anyone to come play. He goes above and beyond the status quo by offering thoughtful and often charitable grand prizes, making each performance not just fun but genuinely impactful. Beyond the stage, he's always seen bringing joy wherever he goes! Handmade gifts, side-splitting jokes, or wild whimsical stories are all on the menu! It's really hard to hold a frown down when he's around. All in all, in everything he does Doctor Onion showcases big ambitions and an even bigger heart. The passion and energy he pours into making random people smile at meetups is nothing short of extraordinary to witness. Though I may be his partner in crime, I have the unique privilege of seeing the behind-the-scenes effort and heart he puts into making it all happen (even if we have to debate at 12 a.m. on paint colors.

J D Puppy
J D Puppy is a truly uplifting, kind, and inspiring presence in the furry community. JD brings joy and energy wherever he goes, whether performing as a fursuiter, college mascot, or dancer. He’s known as “Caffeine Puppy” for good reason—his happy and high-energy personality lifts the spirits of everyone he meets. JD creates weekly “Motivational Monday” videos on Bluesky that help others feel calm, seen, and supported, offering words of encouragement to those who may be struggling.

Beyond his joyful presence, J D is deeply involved in building community through Fastest Furs, a group of speedrunners that hosts biannual charity marathons. In 2025, they raised nearly $15,000 for Lost-N-Found Youth, supporting LGBTQ+ homeless youth. But what makes JD truly stand out for the Furtastic Award is not just his charity work—it's his everyday compassion and positivity. He’s the kind of furry who makes everyone feel welcome, appreciated, and energized. Whether cheering people on at conventions, supporting others online, or just being a light in someone’s day, JD Puppy is the embodiment of what makes this fandom so special and deserves a nomination for the Good Furry Award – Furtastic Award Category.

Mint Cashew
Mint Cashew is with no doubt the most favorite and inspiring furry artist for me! I enjoy their attention to detail, and with such detailed backgrounds, I love to take a minute to explore all the little details and inside jokes (which actually clears my mind a bit haha).  Cashew makes a positive impact on me and others through his work, and I believe that deserves some recognition.

PhotographOtter
PhotographOtter: PhotographOtter has done many positive things, but in this case the nomination is for his generous kidney donation.  This led to his role in The Reality of Hope, a documentary by Joe Hunting and MaxFilmsVR, covering his kidney donation to Hiyu, a worldbuilder for Furality Online eXperience. The process was a medical miracle, one of the first times someone donated a kidney to someone else in a foreign country who've never met in-person. He documented the experience himself in short video clips as well, and he is featured in a YouTube video produced by New Yorker magazine.

Photographotter presents his story and the film at multiple conventions, including Garden State Fur the Weekend 2025 where he was crowned Guest of Honor, and Furality Somna. He also presented at Sundance Film Festival where it received a nomination for Best Short Film.

In addition, PhotographOtter has performed many great deeds for more than just one fandom. Bronies may know him as the cofounder and codirector of Ponycon NYC, reaching an attendance of over 6,000 people at their peak event. VR Furries know him as the director of the Cleanup Crew. Sci-fi authors know him for his self-published novel, Assembler, written over 15 years. The novel features a spacefaring otter-like alien crash landing on Earth and finding her way.
Photographotter spends his time being a good friend, a great ally, and an inspiration to many. By sharing his story he shares the benefits of being a living kidney donor with so many, promoting good will and altruism in the Furry Fandom and beyond.

Thanks for all your support this year! See you next year!
